| Recensione: | “The three-dimensionality of her bas-reliefs fused glass gives life to play of light and reflecions that varying constantly from the prospective of the observer them, authentic expression of the binomial transparency-color”
Monica Dessì born at Chieri (TO), January 5, 1975. The young entrepreneur started up businesses as designer and interior designer and from 2002 has been dedicated to the making of the glass work fused to bas-relief. Her training in Tuscany with Nives Marcassoli, in Zurich with Sandra Hofner and in Venice with Claudio Tiozzo the world-famous sculptor, enable her to elaborate a personal study of the glass with association of colours in a processing style absolutely unique. These quad-sculptures are authentic art in motion, so much so Pino Signoretto, a worldwide famous glass sculptor wrote: “…I find very harmonious everything, I see the flat glass taking shape and light driven from an artistic feeling, with the desire to discover the shape and the colour like a vision. I am impressed…I did not know fusing to these levels, is interesting and inspiring..” “I felt the glass on my skin, the shapes and the colours. I met them by chance, as they had always been in me. I began to amuse myself with them. And this is a game that makes me breathe the true delight of live". I began to give free outlet to the binomial transparency – "colour in motion" found across the three-dimensionality of the pieces that gives life to a play of light and reflections varying constantly from the perspective of the observer. Transparency, light, colour... these three words draw on my need to express my love for life, my brightness, my point of view of the world like a blend of shades. I began so to realize quads and sculptures and another chapter of my life has been opened, made of contests, shows, personal and collective. Mine main artistic objective is to bring my works to the people,to transmitting feelings and emotions, delight and light. The continuous inner motion that represent myself and the research of harmony between colours, forms and light delivered the first quad. I want to transmit the importance of transparency,of light and colours through the glass. The two-dimensional painting did suffice anymore … was lacking the life…the motion. I’ve chosen so the bas-reliefs and the glass not completely melted cause representing of my view of the world made of "colours in motion". So that the sight of my works and the colour can enter the observer and create feelings without the condition ing of familiarity, but instead draws on depth simply emotions. ..."The wonder of being able to hear within the soul the evolution of events and the possibility to accept them..." The sculpture is the evolution of the technique used for the quad. It's a bright installations become, in continuous motion placed into a solid construction in which, either by harmony or by clash it emerge and predominate. The complex process starts with materials together like metals, clay or wood, which are assembled to create vehicles in which lead mind and soul across an inner subjective dimension. There is harmony between the outside construction, composed from materials that give a feeling of stability and force and the glass, apparently light and fragile, that reveals all the weight of instability teamed with the continuous motion of colours and shapes, almost to represent the perpetual fluctuation of the human being. At the beginning of my research I wrote a sentence to describe the motive of my artistic choice, that became my style of life: "My love for the making glass, consolidated my deep devotion to the transparency, to the light and to the colours. Irreplaceable companions of my life". |
